Wild Medicinal Garlic
(Allium
Vineale) (Not
a Product, a Trust?)

The Native
American's understood the benefits of wild garlic for
controlling ailments like high blood pressure.
Native Americans of
the Cherokee nation used wild garlic for medicinal purposes,
including as an expectorant and as a treatment for asthma
and scurvy. The Rappahannock chewed raw bulbs for high blood
pressure and shortness of breath. The Hopi used wild garlic
for food. Allium species contain volatile oils and sulfur
glycosides that can help rid the intestinal tract of gas and
aid digestion.
Today, most cattle, sheep and goat ranchers consider wild
garlic to be a pesky weed that ruins the taste of animal's
milk and meat. It's part of the modern day odyssey, as the
medicinal wild garlic actually helps control infections in
livestock and provides many other health benefits for those
drinking the milk, cheese, meat and other byproducts. In
fact, wild garlic enhances the flavor, not diminishes the flavor
and was favored in the 1800's in places like Switzerland
where the butter made from cows fed garlic sold at a premium.
However, now we live in a world that has lost it's mind and
wild
garlic is considered to be a weed with no real value.
Wild garlic grows in many different places and climates, but
finding and then harvesting it has become an arduous chore
as it's new found weed status has made it much more scarce
in developed areas. If you find a remote meadow or an
untouched stream you may often times find it growing in the
wild. Toby, a local Oklahoman from the
Cherokee Nation was the first to introduce Broken Earth
to the wild garlic plants.
Wild
garlic is a naturally grown medicinal plant. In fact all
eatable wild plants provide the very best medicinal value -
especially those grown in the same region where you live. It
looks very much like a green onion or scallion, but has flat
leaves instead of hollow leaves on a wild onion plant.
Wild garlic grows in clumps and unless separated will
only produce
one bulb or stalk. To produce the standard looking store
bought bulbs you must replant the wild garlic and leave it
for an entire season. The following year it will sprout and
produce the multiple clove bulbs. Wild garlic can be chopped up and put into fresh salads or
cooked in a variety of different dishes. Wild garlic
has a very distinctive and unique garlic flavor. It is
absolutely delicious.
But more important than taste are the many health
benefits that wild garlic provides.
If you are suffering from blood pressure problems,
wild garlic may hold out the potential for controlling or
even eliminating your health problems - especially if
combined with a good exercise and
diet program. Wild
garlic may not work for
everyone, but it does provide relief for a large percentage
of high blood pressure sufferers. Weather it will work or
not for you all depends on what is actually causing your
blood pressure problems. The only way to know for sure is to
try some wild garlic for a few weeks and see what results you obtain.
All and all, if it can keep you off synthetic medicines
with all of there harmful side effects, it is
certainly worth a try. Garlic supplements in the form of
capsules and store bought garlic may provide some benefit, but nothing works like
fresh wild garlic.
If you can not forage wild garlic in your own area and
obtain both the local medicinal value and exercise that goes
along with harvesting it yourself, then you can either
obtain the fresh wild garlic here or opt for the
wild garlic
sets and plant it in your own area or private garden. In
addition to the sets we will be offering
seeds in the near
future.
As supplies are limited, you may reserve your
seeds now.
How to obtain Wild Garlic
You can obtain fresh wild garlic as a
medicinal trust. We do not
profit from the sale of any offerings on the Broken Earth
website.
The wild garlic offered here has about 13 to 15 plants per
bunch and is actually harvested from the wild. Clean the
plant
and then toss them into salads, or to achieve the full
benefit, eat several stalks each morning one hour before eating or
drinking anything else. If the wild garlic upsets your
stomach you may chop it up and place it in some ayron or
kefir (a butter milk like drink). If you like to make your
own kefir try this Kefir Grains - Live Organic .
If not, you may order
Lifeway Original Kefir ( 32 Fl. oz )
When
ordering wild garlic, order enough for two weeks and if it
seems to be working you can order more, or as we highly
recommend, opt to buy the wild garlic sets or
seeds and
plant your own so you always have an abundant fresh supply
in spring and early summer. .You may then dry the wild
garlic and have it available as a year round medicinal
supplement. Review the options below and choose what is best
for your needs.
Currently available only in the continental US.
(Other regions/countries will be offered soon)
Supplies are obviously limited as we only harvest from the
wild.

Toby, seen here to the right, is
from the noble Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma and was
responsible for being first to introduce Broken Earth
to the availability of wild garlic. Thanks Toby!
God Bless!
The pup is a white perinea's being trained to look out after
Toby's goats and chickens so Toby can spend more time
forging and finding new medicinal plants.
