Spiritual Fitness
Your
Spiritual Being needs a workout just as your mental and
physical being needs worked out.
So many people today worry about how their body
appears to others. They obsess over it; working out two and
three hours per day. As we get older, we realize that even
this is not enough!
Just like our
ego craves more attention and greater wealth, no matter how
much we get, we always want more, so our body wants more
attraction, better fitness, more solid muscle, less fat!
Finally we exhaust ourselves with this obsession and maybe
we notice that the world has changed around us, or maybe we
don't.
People who
live by this obsession, quite often neglect friends and
family, and even themselves. The true you is not just flesh
and blood, bone and muscle! No! You are so much more and the
souls of most human beings today are starving!
Moderate
exercise of the body keeps it fit and healthy. The soul
needs the same. Unlike the body, the soul will not neglect
the rest of the being when it becomes strong, but will
enhance the health of the whole.
Body and
Mind, Soul and Heart. The body alone leaves man an animal
creature, add the soul and we have a being of much greater
capabilities! As well, the mind is a useful and spectacular
thing, but add to it's sensibilities the secrets of the
heart and take flight!
The secrets
of the human heart are those realities known before we left
the Pool of Souls, Ocean of Light and came here to this
earth. We can only know those secrets when we know
ourselves.
