Honor goes out to Panera Bread, for their continued generosity and efforts in feeding the poor.  Panera Bread is a bakery, coffee house, sandwich shop and Internet café located in Oklahoma and all over the States, that bakes fresh bread on a daily basis. They use absolutely no preservatives in their products. Great care and love goes into each item they produce.

As part of their on-going efforts, a Dough-Nation program was developed to feed the poor. Our hats off to this company for the support they provide the communities they operate in. Please make every effort to give Panera Bread your business and support.

Suggested Programs

Keeping programs as simple as possible is always best. Bread is always a great choice - as everyone loves it and it is the only real food you can eat everyday and not get sick of eating. Here in Yale, Oklahoma, we pick up the bread each week and distribute it to the poor from Panera Bread. At first we went door to door, but then we asked those able to pick-up to do so at a designated time and place. Two hours is usually a good time span to give people to pick up the bread. Those unable to pick-up, we put aside in a bag and deliver it afterwards.

If we can find a produce store that is willing to donate vegetables we will start making a nice soup to serve with the bread.

People were so happy to receive the bread, it was worth every effort. In an area where few people knew each other, this program has not only feed the poor but helped pull the community together - perhaps the biggest benefit of all.
