If you live in Greece or Lebanon or any other country where you can still buy your meat from a local butcher, its easy to find sheep trotters. But for those who typically need them the most, sheep trotters are fairly hard to find.

Most meat markets who do prepare their own cuts receive sides or quarters of lamb meat without any feet attached - so going to your local meat market will likely be a waste of time. Call ahead, perhaps you will get lucky.

The best place to look in the US, Canada and Great Britain are in the ethnic grocery shops, such as a "Halal" or "Kosher" grocer. You will normally find one in neighborhoods with a high concentration of Jews or Muslims. These stores will likely have the entire sheep delivered to their store and in some cases may process the animal themselves - thus having the trotters available.

Finding someone who knows how to prepare and clean the trotters is important as most people will not wish to do this themselves. Unprepared, you must remove the skin and this takes some skill. Many butchers will fire the feet over an open flame as part of the cleaning process.
