Most perpetrators of marriage fraud are fairly intelligent and often times very likeable people - but make no mistake they are con artists through and through. The best con is a con that is performed without the victim knowing they have been coned. These con-artists come in all different shapes and sizes - they can just as easily be a professional doctor as a convince store clerk.

We are primarily addressing marriage frauds where one participant in the marriage entered the union not knowing it was a fraud. For persons who have knowingly entered a marriage for hire and you have decided it is much more than they bargained for, our advise is to be completely honest with authorities and report the crime as quickly as possible. More often than not a US citizen who has knowingly been involved in a marriage fraud and decides to fully cooperate is not prosecuted.

We can speak most effectively about the "Muslim" immigrant community as our base of experience is mostly with this group. As practicing spiritually minded "Sufi" Muslims ourselves, who have lived and worked overseas, it is difficult for us to be coned. We have pretty much seen it all. Sufi Muslims support a simplistic non-materialistic lifestyle that most immigrant Muslims running after the material wealth of the west deplore and completely reject.

The immigrant Muslims coming to America are, for the most part, the very worst representatives of what it means to be Muslim. No matter if they attend the mosque, claim to be good Muslims, fast and pray, their belief is a more often than not a cultural identity and not based on sincere service unto God or humanity. The religious card is often played to cover their selfish motives and disbelief and to gain benefits or favor offered by the hard earned religious freedoms of our America forefathers.

This is a subject matter that can fill several books and we may very well publish a book soon. For the most part, immigrant Muslims in their selfish pursuit of the American dream have given Islamic teachings a terrible black eye. The criteria for obtaining an American visa and citizenship virtually insures that not a single good Muslim enters the US. Morality, for the most part, has become a forgotten standard for immigration to the US. A proven loyalty to money and an adherence and loyalty to the government, no longer to the people is the major qualification for citizenship.
