There is no hard scientific evidence
for the causes of depression. It is
all theory. Measuring symptomatic
chemical changes and other physical
variables and then presenting them
as factual causes is an attempt to
make the shoe fit the foot. They are
not causes, they are symptoms. The
very same physical changes can be
measured by various meditative
states. In fact, a simple forced
smile on your face will induce
beneficial and measurable chemical
changes in your body. Do the
chemical changes cause the smile or
does the smile cause the chemical
changes? The medical answer is to
give you a pill that will make you
smile - but will never make you
happy.
Perhaps it is time to open the door
to some new possibilities and new
ideas. One thing we can be certain
of, what is being offered is not
solving the problem.
Despite the many proclaimed advances
in the field of psychology and
pharmacology, depression continues
to increase at an alarming rate.
Pills and conventional therapy are
simply band-aid treatments placed
upon gaping wounds that are grossly
ineffective in addressing the root
problems of depression. If they
worked, depression would be
declining instead of rising.
Conventional therapy is nothing more
than a top coat of paint providing
temporary aesthetic beauty, destined
to peel off over time. Medications
may seemingly solve one problem
while causing several other
problems, often with severe and
irreversible health consequences.
Depression is not a medical
condition, never was, never will be!
The root causes of depression
invariably revolve around "Meaning
of Life Issues" that are more often
than not completely overlooked when
addressing a persons depression.
They are in fact central to a full
recovery!
While measurable physical and mental
symptoms may develop as a result of
depression they are secondary to the
root cause of depression. Depression
is a spiritual illness. That's
right! Depression is rooted in a
weakened spiritual being an area
unknown to the medical world. The
entire medical community is saying
no, this is our area, do not enter.
But in reality it is not their area
and they have no cure. All they may
offer are band-aid solutions to
cover the physical and mental
symptoms. If you want help with
spiritual problems you need to
consult an expert who is
understanding the causes of
spiritual illness and knows how to
resolve them.
Native American's call it "Finding
Your Center", Eastern Mystics refer
to it as a process of "Purifying the
Heart". Buddhists explain it as a
"Balance between Ying and Yang, Body
and Soul.", Kabbalahism, talks about
"Navigating Between the Physical and
Metaphysical Worlds".
Scientists have attempted to remove
this component because they can not
quantify it, study it or understand
it within the limitations of their
minds. Spirituality is not within
their area of expertise. Their
attempts to undermine and discredit
spirituality has ended in dismal
failure. Moreover, the scientific
approach focused on eliminating and
discrediting spirituality, is the
root cause for the enormous increase
of depression in the Western worlds.
In fact, the field of human science
is nothing more than a religion unto
itself that preaches self as your
center. Self (ego and mind) is not
your center, your heart is your
center. Spirituality is your center.
Without it, you should feel
depressed - how else will you know
you are on the wrong path?
Spirituality, not to be confused
with Religion, must be nurtured and
exercised as does the body and mind.
A weakened spiritual component, as
with a weakened physical or mental
component, is susceptible to
illness. In short, most people
suffering from depression are
covered with layers of fat around
their spiritual being from years of
inactivity and neglect.
Some of the major causes of
depression, according to
conventional medical thinking, are
life trauma, bad experiences,
confronting death or illness and
chronic pain. All of these
situations force us to consider our
purpose within the world we live.
These issues are otherwise ignored
when we are feeling well and not
confronted with our own mortality.
When they are brought to the
forefront, if we do not have a
healthy spiritual being, a good
sense of who we are and what our
purpose in creation is all about,
depression follows. Spiritually
healthy people simple do not get
depressed. Sad, yes, depressed, no.
Treatments that address the body and
mind, ignoring the greater spiritual
component, will always end in
failure. Body and mind are the wings
of the bird, without the spiritual
tail you can not fly - destined to
crash.
Spiritual understanding which
enables someone to address these
important issues can not be obtained
through university teachings.
Spiritually rooted problems require
someone trained in areas of
spirituality. If the medical
community were able to address these
critical issues, rates of depression
would be declining not increasing.
They are not capable - it is not
their field of expertise. Admitting
that would mean loosing their share
of what has become a multi-billion
dollar industry.
Problems With the Unseen
Many people suffering from
depression are actually very
spiritual people who are struggling
with the emotions and experiences
they have because they are
spiritually very sensitive to the
world around them - the unseen
world. Sensing the spiritual realm
without any understanding can be
very frightening and lead to many
difficulties. Just knowing and
understanding, that you are not
"crazy", is a great relief to many
people who are experiencing things
they are told are not real.
Scientists are only understanding
what they see with their physical
senses. They are not able to provide
help in areas of spiritual concerns.
What you are feeling is more real
than you think. Do not let people
make you feel foolish. They are
foolish for limiting what is
possible and only examining what is
perceived by their physical being.
Most of you have been so
indoctrinated into believing that
you can take a pill to cure most
anything that ails you will be quick
to reject that your depression,
suicidal tendencies, schizophrenia
and other conditions are related to
a weakened spiritual being. The
tendency to want to remain a coach
potato instead of getting up and
exercising your physical being is
far less difficult to overcome than
the will it takes to exercise a lazy
spiritual being. But for those who
have the will, it is the only way
you will find lasting relief. The
rest of you will continue to look
for the easy fix, the latest drug,
yet another false therapy and
continue to have problems.
Another major reason for depression
often cited by the medical community
is a hereditary tendency in
depressed people. Suggesting that
depression runs in the family.
Weakened spiritual natures certainly
do run in families. For example, if
a child, before conception, is
dedicated to the service of God and
the birthing process adheres to the
natural laws set forth by the
Creator of All Things, the chances
of producing a spiritually healthier
child are as profound and real as
the physical and mental precautions
taken to ensure a physically and
mentally healthy child. If you drink
or do drugs during pregnancy, even
before the pregnancy, there are both
physical and spiritual consequences
effecting the spiritual and physical
health of the child. The good news,
there are methods for breaking this
hereditary tendency and becoming a
strong spiritually fit being.
How you decide to strengthen your
own spiritual being is a choice for
you to make.
We have found our own methods that
have worked best for us and we have
seen them work well for others, but
we are not hear to promote any one
specific way. Search for what is
right for you and beware of the
false practitioners - they may be
found in medical doctors as much as
they can be found in spiritual
healers. A good place to start is

Still not convinced? Still accepting
what the medical community wants you
to believe?
What was once perceived by many as
foolish superstition is now taking
on more enlightened understanding
through the new research and work
presented by people like Masaru
Emoto, who has documented the
peculiar effect that energy
resonance (spirituality) in the form
of words and phrases has on water
crystals. As a result age old
practices of blessing a home, water,
food, baby, work, events and people
has now taken on new scientific
meaning. For those not familiar with
Masaru Emoto's important work, visit

In the same manner that you will
excel more quickly with a qualified
physical trainer, you may excel more
quickly with a trainer who is
understanding spirituality. Be very
careful who you seek help from. As
portrayed in the movie Star Wars
there is a dark side of the force.
Stay away from fortune tellers and
the like, while understanding and
having some knowledge they are
receiving from dark sources. Search
